In addition to co-founding and formerly co-directing RELATE, I am a former co-boss of Nerd Nite Ann Arbor. NNA2 is part of a large network of Nerd Nites sites across the globe--we give 3 awesome nerds an opportunity to talk about whatever makes them tick, live onstage. I helped to coordinate the speaker lineup for each month's event and toadvertise our events. NNA2 continues on the third Thursday of each month (doors at 6:30, talks start at 7pm) at LIVE (102 S 1st St, Ann Arbor)!

I also volunteered my time with the University of Michigan:

Every year while I was in graduate school, I taught as a booth leader for BrainsRule!. Student leaders from the UM Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGP) coordinate a yearly event during Brain Awareness Week, bringing in >300 6th grade students from Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Detroit public schools to participate in a reverse-science fair to learn about the brain.

I also held a number of leadership positions with the Rackham Graduate School:

and in the NGP:

  • Executive Committee Student Representative
  • Admissions Committee Member
  • Direct Recruiting Co-Coordinator
  • Social Committee Co-Chair
  • Space Design Committee
